Pixar's RenderMan for Maya
Popup Book Technical Breakdown

main index

Introduction

The primary goal is introduce you to the various work-flows of using Pixar's RenderMan for Maya.

What is Expected

The web page/pages that you prepare as part of the technical breakdown for this assignment should show images that illustrate the modeling and lookdev techniques that you used.

The written part of the breakdown should explain the problems you encountered and the solutions that you developed. The images on the web page will be of two types. Some images will be rendered from a point of view that best shows your model and parts of your model. Those images will be referred to as "modeling shots".

The second type of images on the web page will have been rendered as if they had been established by a director of photography. Those images will be referred to as "cinematic shots". The goal of your technical breakdown is to provide sufficient information about your work flow that a person viewing your web page should be able to reproduce what you achieved. A good technical breakdown is NOT just a slide show or a sequence of images.
